Liquor board's Newman is wine's most powerful man
    Philly.com - Sat, 29 Apr 2006 02:22:04 GMT
I'VE JUST had lunch with the most powerful man in wine, a man many know simply as the Chairman. Now I'm much more of a beer enthusiast than a wine wonk, but the Chairman has me eager for my next bottle of Brunello di Montalcino. He chose this wine (a 1999 Silvio Nardi) for our meal, and it paired flawlessly with the earthy lentil salad and rustic braised lamb shank that we shared. The Chairman

The Arizona Republic - Wed, 26 Apr 2006 21:13:58 GMT
The planned buildings are shorter, but not short enough for Bruce and Liz Crosby's preference. They and others in their west-central Gilbert neighborhood say a Virginia company's scaled-down senior living community would still be a disruptive eyesore.

Has Apple Embraced the Dark Side?
    TechNewsWorld.com - Wed, 26 Apr 2006 18:54:15 GMT
An Apple Mac running Microsoft's Windows XP is a bit like Luke Skywalker sitting down to tea with Darth Vader. Each system has its loyal fans and they rarely see eye to eye. Mac aficionado actor Stephen Fry recently voiced what many think of its rival: "God rot Windows and all its ugly, clunky, badly designed horror."

    Observer-Dispatch - Wed, 26 Apr 2006 06:13:51 GMT

IT'S a fact of life within the game of football that missed opportunities remain in the memory bank longer than the art, technique, and sheer good luck involved in glorious and spectacular goals.

The New York Sun - Tue, 18 Apr 2006 08:02:42 GMT
Separating the art from the artifice is never easy, especially when it's difficult to tell whether the artist in question cares to distinguish between the two at all. For 40 years the musician, writer, and artist Mayo Thompson has guided the Red Krayola through concept-art pranks and rock 'n' roll recombination. En route, the band has squeaked out psychedelic classics and post-punk inventiveness

    HuffingtonPost - Mon, 10 Apr 2006 13:13:00 GMT
(Lords of Loud, 4/10) Nothing reveals the damage the broadcast Lords of Loud inflict than actually seeing the faces of those their blather stings most...the victims. Distancing themselves from the affect of their words doesn't make their culpability any less. Same goes for legislators who vote without first looking at the inhumanity their decisions will cause -- or sometimes worse -- what good

    Tradition
in the mix - Sat, 08 Apr 2006 21:40:19 GMT
My family's Passover seder never strictly followed Jewish tradition. None of us could read Hebrew. We discovered too late that a seder guest made the stuffing she brought each year with pork sausage. In high school, I found out that my favorite Passover song, "Man Come Into Egypt," was actually from an album by Peter, Paul and Mary. When I confronted my mother, she just shrugged.
